Canning of our filter substrates

Canning of Notox filter substrates can be done using well known techniques used for decades with Cordierite filters. The main difference is that the mount density must be reduced compared to Cordierite, due to the higher thermal expansion of Silicon Carbide. Our detailed canning guidelines can be forwarded on request.

We offer canning of Notox filter substrates either in house or in cooperation with professional canners, to customers who do not wish to do the canning themselves.

 
Sizing of Notox filter substrates

Sizing of the filter substrates is very much dependant on the application where the filter substrate will be used. Detailed sizing can be done using rather precise modelling tools, but often a very varying drive pattern or insufficient input data, prevents a precise determination of pressure drop over the sootloaded filters substrate. Sizing is therefore more difficult than just using a modelling tool, as long term experience is required too.

We offer our customers help and general guidelines for correct sizing when starting up with our filter substrates.
